True to Life is a collective of young photographers with Down syndrome.They meet regularly to learn about photography, develop their skills, and share the world as they see it.Each year, around World Down Syndrome Day, the photographers hold an exhibition to showcase their work. In some years, a photobook is also produced.Photo-based artist Kelly McDonald, who initiated True to Life, guides each participant. “This is a special program that is very close to my heart,” she says. “The photographers produce such wonderful images, and it’s so rewarding to see their progress.”

Photo Ebooks

We’ve published two books featuring our photography. Visions is our most recent 101-page ebook. The printed edition of Through Our Eyes, our 2023 book, quickly sold out. It is now available to buy as an ebook.
Both ebooks are available at Mustard. All proceeds from the books’ sales go to the photographers.
